Blogging International

Hello once again from Green Bay, Wisconsin, the seat of my travels for the last 8 months. I am once again comfortably established back in my home with my wonderful family. Comfort, hmmm, how it quickly takes on a soft, cushiony, and quite enormous air... and quite suddenly at that.

A change from what I had grudgingly at times become used to over my time abroad. Warm showers, clean clothes, personal space, monolingual conversation... these are what are my new personal amenities. It's almost blissful.

It would be quite easy to forget all that I have seen simply sitting next to the serene beauty of the wise oak trees that rain down forgiving peace on our protected, quiet piece of paradise. That is, if my journeys I had left on the other side of the Atlantic. As it is, they are eternally present. Amidst the exhaustion and clashing confusion that fills my mind, body and soul at this moment, I see bursts of clarity and inspiration that lead me to incredible energy and faith to smile at my life and believe to myself, "I have done well for myself... and it is only beginning."

The smile of the child, the veil of the woman, the toothless grin of the man, and the kind touch of them all that graced my heart still rests, as it always will. Chaotic simplicity reaches out of me, the gift of Morocco. Hesitant optimism and criticism eminates from me, the gift of France. Invisible lines of faith draw on me, the evidence of my stories of friendship in Morocco, Spain, Italy, Austria, England and France. They fly the kites of my life that once again is brought back to Green Bay, or rather De Pere... the home of my source.

A brief pause for reflection.
